DSCF91721(28th August, 2014: Mansa, Zambia) The mock examinations are designed to mimic, as closely as possible, the exam day experience. It is structured with approximately the same topic area weights and level of difficulty as the final examination. The Luapula Provincial Office prepared all mock examinations in the Province for both Junior Secondary Schools and Senior Secondary Schools to ensure that standards are not compromised and learners get the feeling of the final examinations.

Don Bosco Secondary School has only Grade 9s sitting for their mock examinations. Prior to the commencement of mock examinations in the province, the Deputy Head teacher of the school (Mrs. Daka, H.P) had some encouraging words to the pupils. Her words were as below;

“Mock examinations are very important and very often mock examination results predetermine the final examination results that you will get. It is therefore really important for you to spend time studying for your mock exams. This will not only help you in this mock examinations but it will make it much easier for you to remember the subject specific content when it comes to revising for the actual ECZ final exams in November this year.”

She gave reasons why the mock examinations are vital to a pupil’s academic success, first they help pupils understand and get used to the procedure, rule and expectation of the final examination, they are an excellent trial run of the final examination, mock exam results act as a guide to “Estimated Grades” learners are capable of achieving in the final examination and after the mock examination, results will show what you understand and identify what you still need help with.

With the Deputy Head teacher’s words of encouragement, the school wishes and prays for a 100% pass rate for our grade nines.
